What People are Saying…

Some designers talk a good game— high theory, little execution.

Shane ships product. He gets it.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Shane as he drove a full product line through two manufacturing partners and dozens of stakeholders to a successful launch of super high quality hardware. It took open, proactive, cross functional collaboration, a nearly demonic attention to detail, and persistence— all strong points for Shane. He represents design interests with real respect and curiosity, which makes him both easy to work with and persuasive. Unsurprisingly, he’s also a nice person with real integrity. He’s too conscientious to be interested in shortcuts.

Strongly recommend.

I hired Shane early career for Cisco's collaboration device org. He hit the ground running and never really stopped.

During his tenure on my team, Shane grew into one of our most essential senior Industrial Design and CMF contributors. What set him apart wasn't just design skill, it was his ability to navigate the messy, complex reality of hardware product development. He became the person our team relied on to shepherd design intent through engineering, manufacturing, and CM partner coordination. He is collaborative, but seasoned enough to stand up and fight for the design details that matter - all the while keeping his eye towards the manufacturability.

A good example: we had to split an ID product line across two different overseas CM vendors - a situation that almost always results in inconsistent, fragmented product experience. Shane owned it. He negotiated the design details across both partners, kept continuity across the product line and delivered. That takes more than design skill. It takes design craft, dedication, and real commitment to the outcome.

He also builds the systems that make teams function better. He developed a CMF process from scratch to coordinate across Cisco manufacturing, our internal design team, and CM partners. When we lost support for our digital fabrication lab, he stepped up and kept it running. He mentors junior staff and consistently makes the team around him more effective.

He's a strong communicator - especially good at bringing together cross-functional and overseas teams and keeping everyone aligned through messy, complicated development cycles. He has earned deep respect from engineers, PMs, and designers alike.
He's a bridge builder in the process.

If you need a designer who can execute at a high level, build process where none exists, and make your team better - Shane is that person.

I had the pleasure of working closely with Shane on two pivotal projects at Cisco: the definition of a new design language and a groundbreaking product exploration. I saw firsthand his unique blend of collaborative spirit and complete autonomy.

Shane's ability to quickly generate a high volume of concepts during the early stages of a project is truly impressive. His ability to move from high-speed concept generation to meticulous detailing, producing stunning visualizations and renderings in a short time, makes him a versatile and highly effective designer. He has an exceptional eye for detail, elevating designs to the next level while considering all factors, including manufacturability.

I've seen him successfully drive entire projects from start to finish, working closely with suppliers to deliver some of our most sold products. He consistently delivers iconic, recognizable products. Shane is an outstanding designer and a valuable asset to any team.

Shane worked with myself and the product management very closely over the last 7 years. He has grown so much from coming in as an intern and then leading our most important program in 10 years.

Always delivered quality within tight timeliness and went above and beyond to ensure the best possible outcome amid a global team. He has a natural eye for quality, seeing the tiniest blemish or miss alignment, and pushing the team to meet his high standards for excellence.

Tight collaboration with the Product Management to define problems, flush out concepts and find breaking points of assumptions.

Put the customer's viewpoint first and pushed for validation to ensure best possible user experience.

Shane is an awesome person, partner and designer that would make any team better.

Shane is an outstanding: detail oriented designer

During my time at Cisco I witnessed his meticulous commitment to nailing every detail and documenting process. Where other designers say good enough, Shane drills down deeper. He helped lead and ship many products at Webex. Eventually becoming the de facto brain trust of every detail of the Webex design language.

Aside from his well rounded DFM chops and industrial design skill, Shane also navigates difficult challenges and cross functional teams well. He interfaced with the Cisco organization well while navigating the ever changing landscape of product development and suppliers.

Any team would be lucky to have him, he instantly adds value to any team.

For more than six years at Cisco, I worked side by side with Shane on multiple headset, camera, desk phones, and USB accessory projects.

Shane consistently demonstrated exceptional skill in bridging industrial design, engineering, and manufacturing, ensuring that every design decision translated into a seamless user experience and a successful product launch.

He often played a key role connecting cross-functional partners, communicating between design, mechanical, and product teams to align user needs with technical feasibility. His clarity, ownership, and proactive mindset directly contributed to several of our most successful product launches.

Beyond his design expertise, Shane brings a calm, collaborative energy that keeps the team focused and motivated, even under tight timelines. He’s a dependable teammate who elevates both the process and the outcome.

I highly recommend Shane to any team looking for a hands-on, detail-driven designer who not only delivers exceptional work but also strengthens every team he’s part off.

I worked closely with Shane for many years at Cisco. What stands out most to me is his composure under pressure, skills navigating trade-offs (and providing clever cost-cutting solutions), and extensive experience working with overseas suppliers and manufacturers. He also isn’t the type to wait for problems to escalate and is proactive in noticing and addressing potential concerns.

Shane is a valuable addition to any design team and I wouldn’t hesitate to work with him again!
